When I have had a long day of thinking to hard about work, I like to turn my brain off for awhile and read a redwall book.

If you have never read one I want you to imagine a 400 some odd pages tolkienesqe book about warrior animals from britain. About 200 pages of the book are about food or feasting, 100 pages are gruesome midieval weapon related death, and the last 100 pages are filled with miscellaneous descriptions of woodlands ...or folksongs. Eveybody has an outrageous accent and your either baby-eating bad or mother theresa good, no inbetweens.

So here is my interpretation of one of my favorite characters from the series, Lady Cregga Rose Eyes. She's a female warrior badger (my favorite race in the books) and shes pretty badass. Not only does this chick become one of the most powerful female warriors to possess bloodwrath (staining her eyes permenant red) she manages to outlive three generations of characters AFTER having her eyes hacked out with a sword blinding her and then at like 100 badger years she gets shot full of arrows and still takes three days to die.

That is a woman doing it for herself.

Redwall-Lady Rose Eyes by *killskerry : From the suggester:"Redwall was one of my favorite series when I was growing up and it is delightful to see art of this caliber. The style looks like it should belong on the cover of one of them." (Suggested by ~Lizzieknight and Featured by ^ArtisticAunJuli)

Let me stay where the wind will whisper to me, where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story, in my field of paper flowers and candy cloud of lullaby...

"Well, theres your way, and then theres the fun way. I've had half a pack of Peep's and a two litre of Mountain Dew. Which way, do you think, sounds better to me at this point?"

That is definitely an accurate description of the Redwall books. I might add a few pages of puzzle solving in there as well.

The badgers are tied with the otters as my favourite Redwall animals, and they're totally my favourites to read about in the violent scenes. Berserkers with an awesome battle cry? WIN.

That is freakin awesome! What a well done representation of a badger lord!
