Artist's Comments

I saw this picture of a meandering passage froma shrine dedicated to Inari foxes in Japan and wanted to incorporate it into a painting. I also wanted to do a painting with a lot of red so....here we go. The twelve animals of the Zodiac are on some of the lamps. The Kanji is gibber mostly but the two characters on the arch directly facing says "After Life."

Its just a quickie compared to the usual time it takes to make a complete painting, but I still like it.

I love old world Japan artwork and architecture. Love it SO MUCH.

Suh-weet. First comment, and first favorite. I adore the wispy white hair, and the trailing silk train behind.....oh, simply marvelous. <3

This is amazing. Awesome job on it, love. I love the flow of the hair and the perspective. It almost looks as if you are following this fox down it's own hole and aren't come back or it will take a while to come back.

There is so much detail in this. Wow! I cannot believe this is a QUICK sketch.

BTW: This is off-subject but have you seen Sky Blue, a Korean Anime? Send me a Note.

Hee, this makes me think of the little fox in Neil Gaiman's Dream Hunters. Anyway, I love the perspective in this, and you did a great job of combining your style with a Japanese-print look. Wonderful, as usual.
